Charloun Rieu

Charloun Rieu (1 November 1846 – 10 January 1924) was a French farmer and poet in the Occitan language. Frédéric Mistral considered him "the singer of the land of Les Baux".

He was successful at a regional level thanks to publishing three volumes of his verses, collectively entitled Li Cant dóu Terraire (The Songs of the Terroir), between 1897 and 1904. He is commemorated by a monument sculpted by Louis Botinelly.
